South Delhi Neo-Classical Residence
A 1,500 sqft 2 BHK in South Delhi in a contemporary neo-classical style — warm neutrals, wall mouldings and bespoke furniture, built for understated,...
the brief
Balancing classic architectural detailing — wall mouldings, panelled walls, fluted surfaces — with genuinely livable, practical space in a compact 1,500 sqft 2 BHK, without the home tipping into overly ornate or impractical.
the approach
Classic proportions and detailing were paired with contemporary, streamlined furniture rather than heavy period pieces. Storage was built into the architecture itself — wardrobes and units resolved as part of the wall panelling rather than added afterward — and lighting was layered across ambient, accent and functional sources through both bedrooms and the living space.
the house was compact. the detailing was not sacrificed for it. classic mouldings and panelling were paired with streamlined, contemporary furniture so the home read as timeless, not ornate.
storage and lighting were resolved as part of the architecture — built into the panelling, layered across ambient, accent and functional sources in every room.
